This styled shoot was more than just a fun collaboration of wedding professionals -- it was a dream and vision I've had for years come to life. As a wedding photographer, I get the honor of photographing each one of my bride and groom's dreams made into reality. I love to see what each couple has designed, what classic and trendy components they bring into their wedding day, but every once in a while, it's so much fun for me to bring my own ideas into reality. As I planned this shoot, I was inspired by jewel toned florals in deconstructed bouquets, full of life and personality. I love the richness of yellow gold and the decadence of lace. I wanted the session to feel sensual, organic, and real.
I am so excited to share this labor of love with you, so grab a cup of coffee and enjoy!

Today, I did something I have been working toward for an entire decade. I walked into my very own studio! As many of you know, I've been working out of a small in-home studio for quite some time and had grown out of the space. For so long, I've wanted a solo studio outside my home and I am finally there! I found the most darling space in a perfect area of Sioux Falls, in the old South Dakota School for the Deaf. The space has had some updating and personalizing done in the last month and today, I moved in!
With some brand new flooring, a little paint and stain, and demo of an old work bench, it is perfect for me!
I spent the day today cleaning out my old space (soon to be our new family room!), moving some items into the new space, and planning my trip to Ikea next week for the furniture I need. I still have SO much work to do until it is finished, but I can't wait to have the new studio up and running!
Keep an eye out for a full blog post full of images of the finished studio and fun promotions in celebration of this major milestone at Kate Jones Studios!
